Question What should my friend upgrade?

Hey guys, so my friend asked me what he should upgrade first, and tbh I really cant tell. Because I never upgraded only one part, I mainly upgraded entire pc

These are his specs

Cpu: I3 10100F
GPU: GTX 1650
Ram: 48gb

I have no clue about other specs, he didnt say.

I'd say CPU. I3 is pretty weak and there can be alot of performance gained by an upgraded CPU. Nowadays, alot of games are pretty CPU intensive as well, so an upgrade would be much needed.

Knowing the motherboard and the *exact* PSU is a pretty big deal. So is exactly what his usage is with the PC and in what aspect he thinks it's currently lacking. And so is the budget.

I'd inquire with him further, because it's hard to give much of a recommendation with so little information. This is basically just listing three parts.

Ok so he send me his entire PC

Yes he has 2 different kits, but he is pulling out that 2x8gb kit

He said mainly for gaming, his current pc is enough for school and office work, but for gaming it slowing down, and he said around 10000CZK which is around 400euros. The problem is, he isnt getting enough fps anymore, he also has 144hz monitor

I was thinking upgrading to 7700Xt, since the price is the same as 4060Ti, and it performs somewhat better

7700XT will be more like €450. And they are not yet widely available.

Yup, a GPU upgrade is probably best bang for the buck. The i3 isn't ideal, of course, but with only that amount of cash, the GPU is the larger problem for gaming. The PSU's certainly not my favorite, but it should be suitable for this type of upgrade.

Why 48GB RAM? What's the usecase of this rig?
