hello again .
I have been overclocking my system and trying to find stability . In battlefield 1 it sometimes takes 40 minutes or so before my system crashes due to instability . I have 3d mark advanced and can only run a 10 minute stress test . I want a stress test that I can run for 1 or 2 hrs or custom amount of time which would be much more suitable . Is there a paid/free piece of software for this ? Ty

Solution
Intel Burn Test (IBT) is good at rooting out CPU instability reasonably quickly.

Furmark is good at stressing the graphics card.

You can customize the settings in Intel Burn Test so you can still achieve 95%+ on Furmark most of the time, and then the two will fluctuate, due to the fluctuating loads used in IBT, which is good, as it is similar in principle to the fluctuating loads you see while gaming.

The usual caveats apply. Furmark can and has caused GPU power delivery circuits to be overwhelmed and damaged as a result of running it. I'm sure the same is possible with Intel Burn Test, just haven't read of cases where it happened. This is usually because the circuit doesn't have enough capacity, and running full tilt was...

I'm sure the same is possible with Intel Burn Test, just haven't read of cases where it happened. This is usually because the circuit doesn't have enough capacity, and running full tilt was actually never intended by the manufacturer. It's not because either of these tests can intentionally destroy the equipment, it's because the equipment can't handle the stress of running itself at wide open throttle. Make sure you keep an eye on temperatures and voltage lines. It's up to you to make sure nothing gets out of hand and self-destructs.

Both stress tests are free.

Unigine Heaven and Valley benchmarks are free and will loop indefinitely (they also have the new DX12 Superposition benchmark, although I've never used it). These are good for stress testing GPU overclocks.

Prime 95 v26.6 (running the Small FFTs test) is the classic stress test for CPU overclocks. Also free.
