Hello!

Hey, so i just got a stable cpu overclock!
What benchmark should i run to see how much faster my overclock is compared to stock? I'll run stock clock first, then overclocked. I read about PassMark, is that the best? if it makes any help in choosing i'm clocking for gaming performance (i know it doesn't help much but still)

Passmark is good. Intel also has what they call XTU (Extreme Tuning Utility). I've run the benchmark myself a few times. There are many others I'm not thinking of right now but will update if I have time later.

I'm assuming you used these already but if you haven't they really help indicate stability but not so much with a score:

Intel Burn Test
Prime95

Also, Asus realeased what they call realbench:

Is XTU a benchmark tho or just a overclocking utility?

It's both. You don't have to use the features to utilize the included benchmark.

Ok, at Passmark.com all downloads were stated as "old" so i went with the intel xtu

I install a handful of oc benchmarks to make sure my oc's are stable just fyi. Nothing wrong with trying passmark and it has never caused me any trouble; clean as of last year. Be careful still; once trusted programs like Camstudio now have nasty bugs but not to say passmark still isn't clean but always make sure to uncheck any unwanted malware before installing anything of course!

ok, i ran a benchmark on both intel xtu and passmark both were a success on overclock and turbo mode. for some reason when i test with turbo mode, the multiplier changes from 37 to 35, giving a test at a base clock 3,5 ghz. i read that it has something to do with TDP and i don't know how to fix it. but anyway, the overclock stress test 20 min on XTU and 40 mins on AIDA64 both stayed under 60c. Benchmark on Passmark was 3880 score on stock clock and 4880 on 4 ghz. that's a nice increase but on XTU only went from 840 to 870.

Reply please and review my performance please.

if you mean my temps? i don't go over 60c.
