Question What thickness thermal pads for laptop?

I'm about to order the stuff to do a liquid metal application for my laptop. I know there are some thermal pads on various components I'll probably want to replace once I'm in there. What thickness thermal pads should I get for that part? I see that the three most common thicknesses are 0.5mm, 1mm, and 1.5mm.

Whatever it was originally installed, it varies between laptops and components. Pads are put there because of uneven height of components cooler body has to cover and paste can't be that thick.
PS. You are not going to use liquid metal and thermal pad in same place, aren't you ?
