Hey everyone,

I'm doing my first (game)PC build in 2 weeks and I wanted to know what GPU to choose.

The parts I have in mind now:

Intel Core i5 3470 / 3.2 GHz = CPU
http://azerty.nl/0-2532-528633/intel-core-i5-3470-3-2-ghz-.html

Club 3D Radeon HD 7870 royalAce = GPU
http://azerty.nl/0-3921-556746/club-3d-radeon-hd-7870-royalace-.html

ASRock ZH77 Pro3 = Motherboard
http://azerty.nl/0-4924-554124/asrock-zh77-pro3-.html

Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB = RAM
http://azerty.nl/0-750-361602/corsair-vengeance-.html

AeroCool Strike-X One = Case
http://azerty.nl/0-1044-485506/aerocool-strike-x-one-.html

Corsair Builder Series CX600 Bronze = PSU
http://azerty.nl/0-1073-555978/corsair-builder-series-cx600-bronze.html

Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB = HDD
http://azerty.nl/0-857-397470/seagate-barracuda-st31000524as-.html

Samsung SH-224BB = DVD Reader
http://azerty.nl/0-862-557195/samsung-sh-224bb-.html

Should I get the "Club 3D Radeon HD 7870 royalAce"
http://azerty.nl/0-3921-556746/club-3d-radeon-hd-7870-royalace-.html

Or should I get the "MSI N660 TF 2GD5/OC (GTX 660)"
http://azerty.nl/0-4360-554020/msi-n660-tf-2gd5-oc-grafisch.html

I still have my doubts about the Club3D 7870 because I don't know if it is a good brand.
Also the 7870 is on sale 33% less money.

If you have any other suggestions, please do tell them.

Greetings, AncientBro :D

Just want to fill you in with Club 3D. It's a decent brand, they do provide quality across their GPU range. One of the biggest GPU producers in Europe. Choosing either GTX 660 or Radeon 7870 would be a good choice. You can't go wrong with either one.

But as you didn't buy a overclockable CPU, the don't buy a Z77 MOBO. Go buy a B75 MOBO instead.

This one gets 9.7 out of 10 by Techpowerup in their review, so it would be wise to look for that! Link is below.

Hey lostgamer,

Thanks for your reply!
The motherboard is actually a H77, I haven't figured out why it shows ZH77.
Will this H77 still be good for a system? (I know it's a bit more expensive than the B75, but is it worth it?)

In most cases it isn't worth it. MOBOs doesn't affect performance by that much, it's almost 0. I wouldn't recommend it, the money saved could be used on a better CPU or GPU. :)

Go for club3d!!!
the 7970 Ghz Edition is faster then the 680.
also club3d has a better custom cooler.
So you can overclock it to a better stable clock in future if u want.

I have a Club3d 7870XT and it performes as good as a GTX660Ti!

Well, you're comparing an overclocked GPU with a stock GPU. So that doesn't really counts. You can also overclock a GTX 680 all the way to 1400 MHz on the core and 7200 MHz on the memory, then which is fastest? Always compare stock with stock and overclocked with overclocked. Not the other way around.

Still nice to give him some inputs of the Club 3D brand, so he is more sure about his buy. :)

Well, I am convinced the 7870 from Club3D is a good card. But the problem is that there is only 1 left on the site and "out of stock = out of stock". So I hope they still offer this card in the weekend, if it is not already bought.

If you can't wait then the GTX 660 will do about as good, the difference is so small.

But just pray it'll be there, mate! :)
