It just doesn't have an F_Panel so do i need to get a new motherboard ?
If youre talking about the Optiplex 9020, there is a front panel pin area, its around the upper right corner of the board, youll need to do a slight mod to get it to shut up about the front panel not being connected, but theyre there. Youll need to put a bodge wire or solder blob between pins 1 and 3 to disable the error. I would also remove the plastic around the pins, and bend them out to the sides a little since theyre thinner than normal front panel pins. You honestly need to do a little work to get these truned into a mostly regular motherboard, so if you can pickup a cheap LGA 1150 board, it may be worth it. I did these changes on a lot of like 20 because they were dirt cheap like 5 years ago (sub 20 dollars with the io shield), so it was worth it to me, especially since they work with Xeon E3 1200 V3's. As a one off, unless it was free, it may not be worth it.
1. Get a Dell 8 pin to 24 pin atx adapter so you can use a regular atx power supply.
2. Modify the front panel connector for use in a regular atx case.
3. Buy or make 5 pin to regular 4 pin adapters for the cpu and case fans, or just remove the 4 pin fan cables from their housing, put some electrical tape or shrink wrap on the connectors, and plug them in the correct spots on the motherboard.
4. Make sure you have your air temperature sensor that came with the optiplex 9020, or it will complain about it. Otherwise use a 2.4k ohm resistor in place of the thermal probe. You can either solder it directly on, or find a cable, or a couple of wires that will plug into the spot the sensor probe plugs into, and attach it to those.
Alternatively, if you don't care about hitting F1 every time your computer boots, you only need to worry about steps 1 and 3. Eh you still may want to bend out the pins for the power switch on the front panel connector, but thats it.
