So 2 years ago I bought a new pc for myself with graduation money and I got windows 10 pro but now 2 years later my seagate firecuda 1tb hard drive died out of the blue and i decided to get a crucial mx500 1tb m.2 ssd and i was wondering if there was any way that i could get the product key from that old hdd or if i just have to buy a new license?

if your wiindows was tied to microsoft account, it will activate on yor PC on its own, no key needed

When you make a Microsoft account on the new PC does it automaticlly tie itself to that account or do you need to do that manually?

I got it through new egg

If this new drive, is on the same exact system, just choose I do not have product key, when doing the install, and it will activate, once connected to the internet, after the installation takes place. The product key will be tied to your motherboard.
