Hi everyone, I've come here after playing far cry 4 and looking at a review/benchmark of DA:I. I have a gtx980, with an i7 4790k, and quite frankly I am somewhat disappointed in performance. While playing far cry 4 on ultra, if I use 4xMSAA I hover around 50-60fps and the same is said for DA:I.

Is this what should be expected of a gtx980 or is this just bad optimisation? I spent $770 AUD on my 980, and I expect to turn everything up at 1080p and get 60+ fps, I definitely don't expect it to be dropping below 60. Am I expecting too much?

Its not that it doesn't run well, if I set it on preset ultra I get ~80fps, but what I'm saying is once I start using some of the more higher end graphical goodies, my fps tanks and most of the times I'm below 60 fps. If I wanted to play regular ultra and get good frames I wouldn't have bought a 980. I feel I've forked out a lot for a 980 so I should be able to run the extra goodies and not go below 60 fps.

That only tells you how demanding or how badly optimize a game is. There is no assurance even with gtx 980 to consistently run in 60fps with max settings. Don't feel bad or feel cheated because just imagine how the lower cards cope up with new gen games.
