Hello,

I was wondering if I should upgrade my cpu or gpu first (for gaming) and what I should buy. I am willing to spend 300-500 euro.

I have the AMD 6850 HD from club3d.
And I have the AMD FX-6100 six-core (3.9 GHz).

Any help is really appreciated.

Solution
Do both if possible. That CPU is not very good. AMD said this themselves and that is why the 6300 came out so quickly.

Try to get an fx8320. Dump the rest into the best GPU you can afford.
As disappointing as the FX-6100 was when it was used in a SBM a few cycles ago, I agree with Tiny Voices that a GPU upgrade only won't give you the increases you want. Hopefully you can fit a FX-6300 (or FX-6350) and a GTX760 or HD7870 into your budget. What is the brand and model (not just wattage) of your PSU? A unit strong enough for the HD6850 may not be quite enough for a major upgrade, so checking is a good idea.

My psu is the "Win Power AD-E750AE-A5/A6 ATX 750W PSU Power Supply"

And my budget just went up to 800 euro.

Would you recommend this?
Or would the gpu upgrade be insignificant?
And should I go for an intel processor + new motherboard?

Then this will be it. Thank you and Onus very much for the help. It is really appreciated.
