Hi everyone, I've got a gtx 1070 gaming x 8gb gpu, with a msi z97 gaming 7 motherboard, with 24gb ram and a i7 4790 cpu, i want to upgrade my motherboard and cpu, because i think i am getting a bottleneck with newer games.

Would amd rizen 7 be a good upgrade or should I stick to intel? and what motherboard would work with the cpu?

A 1070 is more of a 1440p ultra settings 60 fps card. If you want the best experience at 4k availble now get a 1080ti. Don't sli since only a handfull of games still support it and of those only a few have a more than 30% performance increase and some actually make the game perform worse or even crash.
Imo your rig is still viable for gaming.
What resolution are you playing natively?

Just a heads up, if you upgrade the mobo and cpu you must upgrade memory also since current systems from amd and intel is using ddr4.

i am playing on 1920×1080, i can play on 4k but only get about 40fps on my 4k tv playing at ultra, so there is no need to upgrade and even if i do i would probably need another gpu to feel the full power of 4k gaming in ultra settings, or will the upgrade help, and yes ill have to upgrade my ram as well 🙁

That rig should still be good at fhd.
The only way is, as you said it, full system upgrade.
Not worth it imo.
Just cut back on some eye candy setting to get on 60+ fps (i dont think there's alot of game that could push your fps under 60 tho)

Try faster storage maybe? Nvme?
