It was my birthday recently and i got some cash and my paycheck from work has came in i have around $660 what should i upgrade on my pc? i currently have a i5-6600K, GTX 1070, 16GB of ram and a MSI gaming M5 Z170A
You could do a upgrade to a 7700k (BIOS update may be required) but the gain IMO isn't worth the money at this point with 8th Gen intels out and Ryzens.
If I were you I would look at a 8700K for pure performance or a Ryzen 1600x or 1700 if you want a more budget friend but still powerful CPU. Both will require a new MOBO.
If you have a bad monitor sure, and as far as a SSD it wont do much for you other then improve boot time (if you install your OS on it) and game loads (although that varies radically from game to game).
Well the SSD speed increase over a HDD is always a nice boost and for the monitor if the OP is using a 1080P or less monitor then a 1440P (IPS?) would be a nice upgrade. Plus if they have enough room on there desk you can always use the older monitor as a secondary for browsing, Netflix, etc. Unless the extra performance is needed I would think the 6600K, especially overclocked, would be able to handle most games fairly well without issue. And there's another possible upgrade if needed, the CPU cooler, for overclocking.
