What type of cable is this?

Hi to everyone at the forum,

I hope you guys can help me out by letting me know what type of cable this is and what it is used for.
I have recently found this cable in a box that was in my basement, but am unsure what type of cable it is.

It doesn't really help to leave it in the poly bag but as far as I can make out it could be one of two things:

a) coaxial 5 volt power plug drawing on the USB's voltage. Some Lacie drives use this type of plug. It could also be the same but for a cellphone.

b) proprietary mini-USB (can't see well enough to tell whether it's round or what)

It is a PC to device connector - could be use in external drives, cameras, cellphones, etc.
