Question What type of display issue is this? Is this damage from sunlight exposure?

Over the course of living in a new house, I have started noticing some growth of these "burned edges" on my monitor, it doesn't appear to affect really anything, but they're there regardless. Is anyone able to tell me what causes this? I think it's from a window giving sunlight exposure but not sure.

For a visual example, not sure what else to do, is this even repairable?

What happens if you press on that section of the screen?

I don't think that would be sun damage, too irregular, but it could have been responsible for de-laminating the panel if that is what is happening. Usually a layer of polarization in there that will show the backlight through when it is missing, or improperly aligned.

Typically there will also be an anti-glare coating/layer on top of the LCD panel itself. If liquid or anything else got in there, that could also explain it. Bacteria or fungus will latch on and what you could be seeing is biological growth. Kind of what I suspect, looks like water leaked in from the top.

Not really much you can do about it I suppose. How expensive is this monitor?

i have 3 of them, both of the side ones are showing this type of issue, the left moreso than the other.

I can't think it would be water damage because the setup is on the second story in a living area that's pretty dry.
