I have the logitech performance mx, currently using a book as a mousepad :/

I need a mousepad that will stay put and is in the middle of fast and slow for movement, i game too

Solution
You want a mouse pad with a rubber like back - this will keep it in place. A mouse pad with different colors or a texture on the printed side will give you more precise movements - the laser in the mouse is going to detect differences in the picture and/or textures on the mouse pad.

I've been pretty happy with the steelseries qck heavy series. Nice quality cloth, solid black. No skipping issues, very good tracking, rubber backed. Used it to replace my older allsop hard surface gaming pad which was nice and smooth and tracked well, however hard surface pads eat mouse feet rather quickly. Wore one of my favorite mice right down to the nubs to the point the underside was dragging the pad.
