Question What type of ram is this?

So I know that the ram are 8 gb sticks and they are hp but they will not work on my motherboard and idk if they are ddr3 or ddr4.

MOBO-MSI P55M GD-45
CPU- Intel Core i5 750
GPU- RX 550 4gb

That motherboard only supports DDR3 RAM. If you can physically install them, they are DDR3. If the notches in the RAM modules do not match up with the motherboard RAM slots, then they are not DDR3 RAM and are not compatible.

The pc starts to boot up then does some beep and nothing happens on screen

Does your system still boot with the RAM you had previous to what you're trying now?

Then as I said, if it physically installs into the motherboard, then it should work. If it's not working then without knowing exactly what you have, it's impossible to say why.

Is there any type of identifier on the RAM? A sticker or anything?
