Question What type of switch/hub needed to network three PCs and connect to ADSL router?

Hi folks

I have three PCs in one room, currently one of them is connected by a long ethernet cable to my ADSL router which is in another room on a lower floor. I want to connect all three PCs to the ADSL router so they all have internet access. I suppose I need a switch which I will connect the long cable from the router to and then the three PCs will connect to this switch.

But what sort of switch do I need? Will just a simple 4 port job do it? Any suggestions as to which model to buy, I would want something easy to setup as I'm guessing it will have to have some settings changed to function in the way I wish - acting as a gateway/passthrough to the ADSL router?

No 'setup' needed, beyond simply plugging the cables in.

Been many years since I setup any networking, long enough ago that I used T pieces, BNC cables and termintors and we used it to play LAN games of Quake....

I bought the TP-Link unit, set it up today, worked perfectly the moment I plugged in the cables, very happy with the solution, cheers!
