I live in an area where the power grid is not very stable and always fluctuates a lot. So much so that when bad weather came through, the power fluctuation broke my computers PSU. My house does have a generator, but it takes about a minute to start and by then the power is already out, nor does it protect from momentary power drops or spikes. I was told that I need to get an interrupting power source, but I don't know what will work for my computer because my computer is a little more power hungry then most people's computers. Can anyone help me find the right UPS for my computer?

I only need something that will last long enough for the generator to start and to prevent power spikes from damaging my computer.

Two steps:

1) Do some familiarization

https://www.lifewire.com/choose-ups-4137768

2) Go online and search "UPS calculators wattage".

For example purposes only:

https://seasonic.com/wattage-calculator

You can find similar calculators for other UPS products. And you may find comparison charts as well.

Just remember that most of the information presented was likely derived or established under ideal circumstances. You may wish to allow a little extra time with respect to your power situation and protection requirements.
