I read that for instance 8700k is the "king" of single core performance... There are processors with a lot of cores and more expensive like 7820X or 7900X but loose to 8700k in single core benchmarks...
I know that tasks like video editing benefit from multicore performance but what tasks in windows benefit from single core? Thanks

Thats why i am asking what applications are single threaded? I use browsing chrome with 30 open tabs, photoshop, illustrator, word, open pdfs, open folders in windows... This are more single or multi thread applications? Thanks

I was thinking that browsing the web was a single core thing...
Só i7 7820x is better for me that i7 8700k because have 2 more cores and 4 more threaded?
My computer will be faster doingvthis stuff with 7820x?

Only if utilization of the i7 8700K is very high while performing some tasks. It won't make a difference in Chrome because you can't view all tabs at the same time, Explorer, etc. If you eran a living with your system, then the i7 7820X may be worth the extra cost.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-ryzen-threadripper-1950x-cpu,5167-9.html The 8700K is not on the list, but the 7700K is faster than the 7820K in several tasks, including Illustrator.

Having more cores doesn't always mean better performance at all tasks.
