Okay, so I'm currently gaming on 1080p but switching to 4k in the future perhaps. I wanna know which of these 3 options you guys would take for an "extreme gaming system".

1)
Case: nzxt h440
cpu: Intel i5 4690k
Mobo: Asus maximus vii formula
Gpu: Nvidia gtx 980x2 sli
Ram: 8 gb A-Data 1600 MHz DDR3
Psu: evga 1000w g1
Hdd: 2 Tb western digital
SSD: 2x Intel 730 series 240gb SSD in raid mode.

2)
Case: Nzxt h440
Cpu: Intel i7 4790k
Mobo: Asus maximus vii formula
Gpu: nvidia gtx 970x2 sli
Ram: 16gb gskill sniper 2400mhz ddr3
Psu: evga 1000g1
Hdd: 2 Tb western digital
SSD: 2x Intel 730 series 240gb in raid mode.

3) same as #1 except waiting to go sli with AMD's next gen gpu.

Thanks guys! Let me know what you think. Need help figuring out how to spend this money on this build. Let me know if you have any questions.
P.s the cooler for all would be corsair h100i and 3x 120mm case fans.

The 3 option, but with 16gb if you can. And the amd r9 300 series ! they wil get stacked dram ( way faster than gddr5, with less power), and the chip will be on 20nm ! :) :bounce:
The i5 4690k is a verry good choice , i7's aren't very useful in game's. ssd doe verry well in raid 0 , but i would go with 2 x M550 from crucial, maybe 2% slower but a lot cheaper, and verry reliable.

Good luck with your build

Build 1 would be better in most circumstances. But you should really overclock the CPU, the 4790k does Turbo higher at stock, but they should overclock about the same.

Also, nobody knows what AMD has to offer next gen.
