I accidentally bricked my chromebook and don't want to get in trouble so would the PWAs come back I I were to sign in with the school account again.

Agreed, address the issue at school properly. You are certainly not the first student to have this happen.

By the way, how did you "brick" the device? And, is it working now?
I would rather try to fix the issue myself and if does not work then I will go to the school. Idk how I bricked it btw it just happened out of nowhere. I just powered it one and the display turns on and then just shuts off.

If nothing embarrassing had never been looked at over the internet or you have kept it clean and don't load pictures off your phone to a school computer just like already said give it to school IT.

Only you know what's best moving forward.

I want to see if factory reset will fix if not the it doesn't get worse. It honestly won't hurt to try. So can someone pls answer my question if you know if my PWAs will come back after a restart? If your just gonna tell me to go get the schools help then don't even bother replying.

I'm not sure that can be answered from out here.

We do not know what 'progressive web apps' were installed on it, or how.

That laptop belongs to the school, NOT you. It is your responsibility to return it to the School's IT department for repair/reissue while telling them exactly what happened, and when. Do NOT make any attempts to reset or repair something you do not own or you may well be held responsible for the cost of replacement/repair. You are a young adult and it's time to start taking responsibility for your actions.

Q: "What would happen to my schools PWAs if I factory reset my chromebook and sign in again with my school account?"

A: We do not know. WE have ZERO idea of how your school set us the chromebooks. A reset may, or may not, wipe all the PWA.
Again....we have NO IDEA.
The only people that know is.....the people that you are too afraid to talk to.

Why would you think a public forum would have any idea what custom setup some random school system uses.

In general school equipment is really locked down and designed to be very resistant to hacking. As a very simple example the could have loaded a certificate to the machine so it can confirm it identity when logging into the network. This is in addition to a userid/password . If you damage this certificate or reset the machine it can never join the network. This prevent people from using equipment that has been modified or just a user owned device from being used on the network. This is extremely common on business owned machines also.

Certificates are designed to be almost impossible to extract and needs special software to install.

It can also be they have specialized licensed version of software they get some discount on. These likely have to be installed using a special admin account from a server. It is not like they are going to just reload software when someone logs it. That would be a massive security exposure as well as likely a violation of the license agreement they have for software.

Factory reset will only restore it to the original manufactures default.
Any school specific programs will be gone.
