Question Whats a good upgrade to geforce GTX 1650 super?

I would consider something in the $350-400 range (give or take) alongside a good quality power supply. My own experience with Cyberpower is that the power supply currently installed (if stock) is a square silver power supply like object and should not be trusted.

I will give Cyberpower some kudos in that over the last couple of years they have really turned around towards much better builds. They still skimp here and there but a far cry from what earned them the reputation they are known for.

you need to look and see what power supply is in it. that is what will really determine what you can upgrade to.

take a pic of the label so we can check it out and see what it can do or if it needs replacing.

second thing to do is to define what your goals are for the upgrade. what resolution with what settings are you hoping for?

I really dont know much about pcs and want to upgrade my pre built
This is the pre-built i bought if theres more that i missed below: https://www.amazon.com/CYBERPOWERPC-Master-Gaming-GeForce-GMA890A/dp/B09253DYWP
My full specs are:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6GHz
16GB DDR4
Geforce GTX 1650 Super 4GB
500GB NVMe SSD
1TB HDD
I'm hoping to keep it under 500-600 USD

Wait a few months. AMD and NVIDIA are launching their "Budget" (Blah ha ha ha ha) cards. They should be a slightly better value than current gen.

Also please include your PSU. You might have a PSU limitation.

Double the RAM to 32GB, some newer games aren't very well optimized and will benefit from the extra RAM. As for a GPU, avoid the RTX 3050 and RTX 3060, they're a terrible value. If you want to get something thats a huge upgrade without breaking the bank go for the RX 6600, its double the performance of your GTX 1650 super and just about as fast as the RTX 3060 for like $235, about $100 less. Otherwise you could step up to the RX 6600XT thats a bit faster than the RTX 3060 for around $260, still $70 dollars less, or if you want something a good bit faster for about the same price you could pickup an RX 6700 for $330. If you want something decently high end then you could look at the RX 6700 XT or RX 6800 for between $360 and $480 or (and youll need to upgrade your power supply for this), you could get an RX 6800XT for around $580 and have one of the fastest cards currently available. I also included a techpowerup article that has most of these cards with a general scale vs an RTX 4090 (currently the fastest GPU) and each other. As well as a review for the RX 6700 that has just the earlier mentioned cards in it. Alternatively you could wait another 6 months and see what the market looks like then. I cant tell you whether you can upgrade your CPU without knowing what motherboard you have and if theres a bios update for it, but a 3600 isnt bad and should serve you well enough for a while longer.

Need to know exact make/model. There are some decent 550w units out there, and others that shouldn't be used for anything more than a paperweight.

+1. Some 550w units are half a dust particle away from blowing up at 350W.

If it's a QUALITY PSU, you can run a single 8 pin connector (150W connector) or possibly a 6 + 8 (225W) Please check your PSU connectors. This really limits you to a 6650XT or 3060 current gen. (Again if it's a really good power supply) Otherwise you'll have to factor in the cost of a new PSU and PROVIDED your PSU isn't using a proprietary connector system like Dell likes to.)

He replied further down with the PSU info, its above.

If you are willing to buy used and are a cheapskate...how about this? Clearly a miner's card. For the price I actually bought one. I have a 3080 but decided I'm going to sell it. The 3080 is still worth 500-600 and figured I'll pay some bills, especially since I've been playing xbox more lately anyway. No ray tracing but close enough to a 3060 and you can't argue with the price. This is actually the seller I bought from. Card looks to be in rough shape, but functions fine. But clearly a mining card. On the other hand, you aren't risking much at $140.

I see a whole bunch of people saying to get an RTX 3060, 3070, etc. and there's a problem with that. Right now, there isn't a single current-gen card out there that's worth buying on both sides so I've been ignoring it. It doesn't even matter though because the "mainstream cards" are still previous-gen as the current-gen is taking forever to fill out. Pricing isn't really being manipulated by scalpers anymore, so at least there's that. From what I can tell, there's not a single card from the current generation from either brand that's worth buying and when it comes to the previous-gen, the only cards worth buying are Radeons.

Check out these "Sold and Shipped by Newegg" listings (that means, no scalpers):

Radeon vs. RTX 3050:
RTX 3050: $300 = 100% cost, 100% performance, 100% VRAM
RX 6600: $220 = 73% cost, 129% performance, 100% VRAM
RX 6600 XT: $275 = 92% cost, 154% performance, 100% VRAM

Radeon vs RTX 3060:
RTX 3060: $350 = 100% cost, 100% performance, 100% VRAM
RX 6700: $320 = 91% cost, 119% performance, 80% VRAM
RX 6700 XT: $350 = 100% cost, 127% performance, 100% VRAM
RX 6750 XT: $400 = 114% cost, 138% performance, 100% VRAM
(At $410, RTX 3060 Ti loses in performance to all three Radeons priced between $320 and $400 and only has 8GB of VRAM so I'm not going to waste any time with it.)

Radeon vs RTX 3070:
RTX 3070: $545 = 100% cost, 100% performance, 100% VRAM
RX 6800: $480 = 88% cost, 110% performance, 200% VRAM
RX 6800 XT: $580 = 106% cost, 125% performance, 200% VRAM
(At $620, the RTX 3070 Ti loses in performance to both the RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT so like the RTX 3060 Ti, I'm not going to waste any time with it.)

Radeon vs RTX 3080 (RTX 3080 & RX 6900 XT ONLY AVAILABLE AS OPEN-BOX):
RTX 3080 (OPEN BOX): $730 = 100% cost, 100% performance, 100% VRAM
RX 6800 XT (NEW): $580 = 79% cost, 96% performance, 160% VRAM
RX 6900 XT (OPEN BOX): $630 = 86% cost, 104% performance, 160% VRAM
RX 6950 XT (NEW): $700 = 96% cost, 112% performance, 160% VRAM
Yes, a NEW RX 6950 XT has better performance, has 60% more VRAM and costs less than an OPEN-BOX RTX 3080. Just insane!

Performance Numbers are from the TechPowerUp GPU Database.

Anyone who buys an nVidia card right now is objectively making a mistake because numbers don't lie, people do. I just wanted to arm you with that knowledge before you move forward. ;)

I like your comparison chart, just letting you know im definitely stealing that and using it :D.
