Hi everyone, I'm not having any specific complaints with my PC, but I am in the market for upgrading.

I play Rust, which is the most poorly optimized game ever, so I'm not expecting a magical FPS fix, and Rocket League, which you can run on a potato.

I have an MSI GeForce GTX 2070 8GBs GPU, Ryzen 7 2700x CPU, Tomahawk B450, Samsung 860 EVO SSD, 32gbs of 3200mhz DDR4 RAM, and a 250hz monitor (set at 240) and a 144 hz 2nd monitor.
I've looked at some bottlenecking calculators, and most have told me that my CPU has a slight bottleneck on this current system. IF CPU is the next part to upgrade, what should I upgrade to? I don't want to spend more than $300ish dollars.

If you think that 2700x is "bottleneck" an R5 5600x would give better CPU performance, all you have to do is to update BIOS.
Apart from that calculator being useless, "bottleneck" is just CPU, GPU or other component inability to run game at proper speed with little regard for GPU.

Stop doing that.
Those things are absolutely useless.

What is the actual problem you seem to be seeing?
Not really much of a problem, just looking fora general system upgrade, I run some games like Rust at like ~60fps and would like to see higher performances, but besides that, nothing really specific.

I was looking at going to the Ryzen 7 5800x, its on sale right now for $209, is that a worthwhile investment for a new and fresh CPU that upgrades my system a little bit?
