What's my computer worth

Hello,

I've had my computer for a while now. From autumn 2012 actually. At the time my knowledge in computer parts was limited. As time has passed, I've become aware of what I should have done better.
Now, I'd like to move away from this system and get a new one. So I have a couple of issues I'd like to get answers to.

First, should I sell my computer as a whole or should I sell components separately?
Second, if as separate components, how much are each of them worth?
Third, for the new system, should I get a laptop or should I build an ITX/mATX system?
I kinda want a laptop since that gets me high quality screen too.
Fourth is kinda like a suggestion on which laptop to get. Price shouldn't be too far above 1000€.

My components:
Intel i5-3450
Gigabyte GTX 660 OC
MSI B75A-G41
Codegen 600w psu. No certification.
One 8 gig 1333mhz ram stick. Other one needs to be repaired due to memory leaks.
Seagate 3TB hard drive.7200 rpm

Thank you in advance,

First, you should sell the computer as a whole. Seperating them will probably decrease the overall total you end up with once all parts are sold (plus some of these parts will be hard to sell.)

Second, for the new system, it really depends on what you need. If you need portability, go with a laptop. If you need a nice desktop/TV experience, go with a little mATX system and a decent monitor (should work out around the same price as a laptop once all peripherals have been considered, maybe even less.)

Third I'd say take a look at the MSI gaming range laptops, they've always been very good.

I threw your parts (or their modern day performance equivalents) into PCPartPicker and came up with a total price of $550 - $600 (I threw in a case since you didn't list one). Link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rDFBdC

You may be able to get in the $400 - $500 range depending on the buyer. A generic PSU definitely doesn't do any favors though. If you get the other 8GB of RAM repaired I'd say the $500 mark isn't unreasonable.

The G751 is a lovely piece of kit. If I was in the market for a gaming laptop it would definitely be in the conversation for my pick. The m series is just Nvidia's mobile versions so you'll see some odd looking numbers like the 965M, they market it as a mobile equivalent to the 960.

Thanks claec for doing that :)
I'll see if I can get that second stick repaired then.

JimmoR3M, do you happen to know if Asus has RGB backlit keyboards on their laptops? I saw MSI had em, but I didn't like the appearance of their machines.
