what's the best GPU i can get for Core 2 Extreme QX9650 without bottlenecking?

Hello Tomshardware!

I am looking to upgrade my GPU on my current PC and am having a hard time trying to figure out the best option.

I know my rig is old now but I don't have enough money to upgrade to new rig

My current build is:
Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650
Asus P5Q-E
8GB Ram
GT 520 2GB
corsair tx 650 v2 PSU

i want to play on games at 1920x1080 resolution. Anyone who can help me choice the best option without bottlenecking?

An r7 370 should be perfect.But my personal opinion is that you should buy a decent gpu just for future upgrades.

GTX 1050 ti is a good GPU for 1920x1080 resolution. Of course GTX 1060 3GB is far better and far expensive and surely QX9650 surely bottlenecks it.

update: the QX9650 is at stock 3,00 GHz or OC?

Will there be a bottleneck GTX 1050 ti ? and how much?

Your cpu will bottleneck it and that's for sure but not by much about 15-20%.This sure can be decreased by over clocking the processor.

Get at least a card semi-competent to play at 1080P, so 1050Ti/R9-380X or above; the card can be carried forward to any future build with you.
