I've got a
gtx 1050 ti with an fx 6300 cpu
8 gb of ddr3 ram
1 tb hdd 120 gb ssd
650 watt psu
GA-78LMT-S2-rev-11#ov

Solution
CPU/GPU is pretty balanced, but for immediate gaming boost, GTX 1060 6gb
Next step is Ryzen 1200/1300X/1600, B350 MB and ddr4 ram for the next level.

for ddr4 i would need a new motherboard a suggestions that support ryzen?

It is the other way around, Ryzen MB only works with ddr4. For example:

Downgrade to 1200, 8gb ram or cheaper B350 MB if you want :)

Is ryzen the best cheapest solution for me?

Don't fill up all the ram dimm slots otherwise you can't upgrade your ram. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/pQx9TW/patriot-viper-4-8gb-1-x-8gb-ddr4-2400-memory-pv48g240c5
Ram can be fairly easily overclocked to ~2666Mhz if needed.
