Okay so this is kind of a possibly multi-faceted issue. So basically when I first built my rig it was running fine on windows 8.1, from what I remember the downloads were normal, then I upgrade to windows 10 and as far as I can remember it's been really crap.

GA-78LMT-USB3 is my mobo. Typical internet browsing, youtube, and also steam downloading speeds going from 3mb/s to 300-500KB/S MAX. I'm using an ethernet cord so it's not some * wifi issue. Whilst I don't think it's my motherboard, it's also possible. I tried different cords and all the typical crap, resetting router and all that.

I'd prefer to figure out the issue before trying to completely re-install windows, since windows wont let me revert to windows 8 from 10. I mean I know the motherboard is cheap but I don't think it should be THIS bad?

What rev is your motherboard? 5.0 or 6.0
5.0 only leads to Win 8.1 drivers.
rev 6.0 also includes Win 10 drivers.

Mind giving me a direct link to it? I could find it but I've tried that twice and wasn't sure if maybe I had the wrong one. I mean I'm pretty capable of finding drivers but this is one problem that's persistent to be annoying. 😛

Pretty sure it's 6, though which driver do I download from the site? When I go to drivers/W10 64 bit It's only the USB3 and Audio drivers?

"Realtek LAN Driver 10.001.0505.2015 9.36 MB 2015/07/09"

AYE AYE AYE. I never even saw the Rev 6 option up theree... ALRIGHT, downloading now~!

windows 10 P2P. your bandwidth is most likely being eaten up as microsoft stealing your net and your pc as their windows update server via peer to peer networking. it's automatically enabled by default. and it keeps getting reenabled with alot of updates, to the point i have declared win10 as utter crapware and damn near a virus, it even enables every one with a wifi device to freeload your internet by default via any wireless connection especially blu tooth.
like an NSA mandated back door for the world to exploit.
on the taskbar go to action center next to your clock click on all settings on the sidebar that popus up you will have to set up the parameters you wish to have enabled and disabled on your pc in DEVICES, PRIVACY, UPDATE & SECURITY, ACCOUNTS, just to make sure you have it all disabled in every windows 10 possible nook and cranny. mind you you have to keep checking back every week or day as windows 10 updates automatically and microsoft always reenables all or alot of this stuff on purpose every single patch pretty much from my experience.

Basically the same speed with the newest drivers. I mean my brother's using a wifi adapter and he's fine, I figured me hooking directly through ethernet would be even better?

3mb/s but my problem is I'm downloading at no more than 500kbs daily, I'm trying to download GTA and the max kb/s for OVERNIGHT download was 500kbs. I slept and got 20gb done out of 60, I'd just rather not wait so long

Your internet plan is supposed to be 3 megabits/sec
Speedtest reports 2.7 megabits/sec

You do not have a problem.

Steam showing you 500KBps is pretty much exactly what it should be.

Your ISP and Steam report in different units. bits vs bytes.

Again - You do not have a problem.
