I can confirm - I have Windows 10 currently running on PCs with the following older CPUs:
  • Intel Pentium G3220 (Haswell)
  • Intel i5 4460 (Haswell)
  • Intel i5 2320 (Sandy Bridge)
  • AMD FX-6300
  • Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 (unactivated copy)

Thank you everyone.

I have made an ISO of Win 10. It will install and is up to date. Win 10 update will not find any more updates, because the ISO is bang up to date..

The problem will come however maybe in the future when I try to install updates.

That's what happened first time round with my old system. I installed Win 10. Then started a cycle of installing updates. It did a few cylces, then at one point just stopped and said CPU not supported.

However I did start googling after posting here, and found there are workarounds.

When it stopped me before, it made me buy a new CPU and mobo. (8700K-rig.) While I could have continued with my old CPU, some games would have suffered. Mostly AC: Odyssey though. Origins struggled on my 4790K in busy towns. That was more down to my RAM being locked at 1600MHz though. Were my 4790K paired with an OC-board, RAM and CPU would have run faster.

I think the 4790K would have still being going by now though. Sadly it's just sat in the ASUS H97 mobo, with a Noctua UHS-12 cooler, and 16GB RAM. .. The plan was to build it into another PC, but I don't need it as yet.

Shame I felt forced to upgrade my hardware though, is what I meant. Having said that, it's been fun playing Odyssey maxed. Plus I think Div 2 might have struggled a little bit with 4790K. (Although running sync all cores might have helped.)

My 4790k (specs below) needs no workarounds, no update fails, no "not supported" messages.

Now...if it is failing in game performance, thats a whole different story.

Mine is an 11 year old HP Pavillion G7 laptop. I managed to get Win 10 fully working on it by plugging in a USB wifi adapter and USB Bluetooth adapter. 😊

Not able to insert an image of my system info. Keeps saying: "Something went wrong. Please try again or contact the administrator"

Mine is an AMD system:
Phenom II P650 Dual-Core Processor 2.60 GHz
8 GB RAM (upgraded from the original 4 GB)
DVD optical drive with Label-print capability.
64 Bit
Non-touch
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series
Installed Win 10 on a Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SSD (upgraded from the original Seagate 5400 RPM HDD)

Ohh, and I upgraded the low-quality, very poor viewing angle 17.3" 1600 x 900 LCD display to a Full HD IPS display (connected my laptop to a very inexpensive 22" TV through HDMI 😊)

And I much prefer AMD over Intel.

I think my acer netbook with an Atom N455 cpu and a wooping 2GB of RAM would be hard to beat!

i have one of those as well running win 10 with 2 gb ram and an N2600 "cpu" type object. slow as molasses but then it was when win 7 starter was installed which it came with. i still use it for basic web browsing to this day and it handles that fine. though the lack of video driver for it limits its use for streaming video. generic driver can only handle limited bitrates and resolutions. not that it was very strong even with good drivers from win 7.

it started out just to see if it would do it, then i got lazy and did not bother to roll it back to win 7 starter. in the end i want to make it a linux Os but never bothered overt the years. it does run Kali Linux pretty well though which it dual boots.

Mine is a 2009 era Toshiba Satellite L305-S5955
Celeron 900, 2.2GHz, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD.

The only upgrade from stock was a warranty replacement of the original 160GB HDD to the current 250GB.

Beat you. I had a 2006 (2007?) Toshiba L755 laptop that I loaded Win 10 on. The only change was upping the ram while still running Win7. It's now a media server at our church.

This says it has Windows 7, not 10, installed. It also does not specify WHAT i3 is in use, and since there are literally 10 current generations of i3 that exist, this is basically meaningless.

Installed 20h2 for fun in my 1st dual core PC circa 2006. I kid you not.

The CPU is a Pentium D 960.

My entry is an HP T520 Thin Client with the following specs:
  • Processor: AMD GX-212JC dual-core SOC APU met AMD Radeon HD Graphics (1,2 GHz)
  • RAM: 4 GB, DDR3L
  • Flash Memory: 32 GB (SSD)
  • Audio Output: Sound card, stereo
  • Uitgang monitor: 1x VGA, 2x Displayport
Drives an ancient 55" LG industrial monitor I got free of charge from my company @720 off one of the Displayport using an HDMI converter so I even get sound off the monitor speakers (2x10W). Runs a standard Win10 install at this point to watch Netflix and Amazon Prime on the rare occasion of having a free Saturday/Sunday.

Had some MAJOR problems with nonexistent and/or BSOD-ing Win10 drivers, but the Win7 drivers are just fine.

Now I simply HAVE to try my ancient Gigabyte GA-8SGXL / P4-2.8 GHz / 1 GB RAM / 20 GB HDD combo I still have lying somewhere. The Win7->Win10 upgrade path MIGHT work.

Toshiba Satellite Pro T130-15F (made in 2010)

SU7300 1.3Ghz Core 2 Duo CPU
3GB DDR3 Ram
Installed a 120GB PNY SSD

Windows 10 runs really well for a basic laptop just browsing the web, checking emails and printing documents. Its great! and i don't plan on upgrading and time soon.
