I will be upgrading from my 900p 60hz to a 1440p 144hz monitor. I have no intention of upgrading to 4k until the prices of 4k cards drop. They are considered top of the line rn. Rn i only have esports which i can run at 4k max settings but not the newer games. I finaly have a job as a collage student. Im running a gtx 960 that my friend gave me from.his old alienware x51 since he decided to upgrade from it and build a pc himself. Fro now it will run games like csgo and lol at 4k but i have no intention of doing it since with csgo, you need fps and with lol, it has no 4k support in 2019 because riot is such a good company having time to make a lol version of Tekken or street fighter, a kit based csgo, and a lol version of herthstone but no time to give lol full 4k support which they should've done in 2016 at the latest. The only game i can would do 4k on is dota because i dont need 300 fps in a moba. Anyways i dont have enough gpu horse power for a propper 1440p rig or vr support and im using dated hardware. It works but my monitor is not very good for csgo but i also want to play everything else at 1440p 60fps max setting. What's the recomended current gen gpu.

Solution
Aren't those 4k cards. A little excessive for 1440p 60fps. I did sai i have no intention of doing 4k until prices on cards this powerful drop to a point where its actually practical. The 144hz is basically for csgo where every frame matters but the gpu upgrade is for the newer games and vr
I really only consider the 2080Ti a 4K card. Those suggested cards are a good choice for 1440p 144Hz, they will do strong FPS but are not over the top.
