What would that be? A 386, a Pentium (Pro, II, III, 4 and etc.)? A Core 2 Duo (Quad, Extreme)? Basically what is your favorite CPU from all CPUs and eras, be that Intel or AMD or VIA or any other brand? That's a pretty tough question because even I, myself, cannot provide an easy answer. There's the beauty of the old generations mixed up with the diamondlike modernity and calculation richness which melts away the cycles on the newer CPUs. It's all a turn of the dice.

Give it a shot!

Agreed, my good old i7-920 purchased in 2008, back when you could buy a cheaper cpu and overclock it to save a few bucks. Using a Gigabyte x58 UD3R motherboard and at long last about to be retired as the MAME arcade backup pc. Running for 14 years without issue.

Is that a HAF 932 CASE? I had a HAF X which was possibly the biggest and heaviest case I have ever had! Only way I could fit my SLI 580's in.

I"ll give two of each........

AMD Thunderbird 1.2
AMD K6-2
Intel I7 2600k
Intel core 2 duo

some age like fine wine and some age like milk on the counter.............
Had an i7-3770K myself. Was able to OC up to 5 GHz stable w/ Corsair H110. Remember the Core i7-2600K processors could go up to 5.2 GHz with lightness and certainty.

It's amazing how Sandy Bridge CPUs have lasted over time. For example - a Pentium III or Pentium 4 from 2001 would not hold a candle in terms of gaming or high tasks in 2013; yet the i7-2600K from 2011 would still be quite powerful and productive in terms of the highest range in 2023. That's fine wine alright! :)

My favourite CPU, thinking back is prob the Q6600. It was the first real chip I tricked around with and OC'ing. And boy could it OC!! 2.4ghz stock, 3,2ghz OC'ed. They were savage.

Had in a revamp of the Commodore brand back in the 00's : Commodore Gaming: High Performance PC's with an early Medal Of Honour games skin on the chassis.

It went to a second home, and I'm sure is still kicking today!.

can say at least for certain e-sports titles like King of Fighters XV (released 2022), Soul Calibur VI (released 2018), Street Fighter V (released 2016), and Dead or Alive VI (released 2019) --- the i7-2600K can still compete.

have these four games on my 2600K pc, and they play comfortably with a 1050ti at 1080p. No lag at all. I'm crazy for fighting games, so most e-sports title on my pc are fight games (lol).

I would also take this chance to give a reminder to people who like to compete... using anything weaker than a 1050ti is a bad idea.. I tried a GT 1030 and these games would lag even at 720p - when you're playing online against a strong player, even a little lag can mean death.

all tournament I posted here are 2022, to show that these games are still being played.
