Question "WHEA Uncorrectable Error" BSOD after upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600 ?

Hey everyone,

I’m running into a recurring BSOD issue with the error code "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR".
This started happening after I upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 5 5600.

The crashes only happen during more demanding games like Battlefront or For Honor—usually while loading in or out of matches. Oddly enough, I don’t experience any issues during stress tests (Cinebench, Prime95, etc.), so I’m a bit stumped.

What I’ve tried so far:

  • Updated chipset drivers
  • Flashed to a different BIOS version
  • Swapped out multiple RAM kits
  • Reseated CPU and GPU

The crashes were happening more frequently before I updated the chipset drivers and BIOS, so there’s been some improvement, but the issue still persists under load during gaming.

My specs:

  • Ryzen 5 5600
  • 16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
  • ASUS ROG GTX 1080 Ti
  • B450 motherboard (exact model can provide if needed)
  • Windows 10

Any advice or ideas would be really appreciated—thanks in advance!

If the system worked fine before and the only thing you changed is the CPU, the most probable cause is that the CPU is defective or overheats. What cooler do you have?

It's Corsair AIO with 360mm radiator which should be more then enough, I can't remember the exact model.

where did you buy the cpu?
which motherboard model is it?

which BIOS version is showing when in BIOS?

I bought the CPU on Amazon and the motherboard is an Asus ROG B450-F.
I will check the BIOS version later today as I'm at work.
