Hi

I built a new computer a few days ago but I get greetet with BSOD and error WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR (both win7 and win10) a couple seconds up to 1 minute after booting up.
Also, although BIOS says my mainboard temperature is at 24°C, several tools in windows are reporting 114°C(not true, I touched it)

I'm not sure what to do now...what I tried so far:

Updated BIOS to newest Version
Take RAM out, plug in other slot
Remove GPU
removed CPU, reapplied some thermal paste and made sure the cooler sits perfectly

Also, for the first time I used a case with a fan controller, so I plugged the cpu fan into cpu_fan and made sure the other fans are controlled via the controller(in bios) but I feel like this is not the problem..

component list:

asus z97-k
i5-4690k
asus gtx 970 strix
hyperx fury(blue) 8gb ram
seasonic m12II bronze

I'm kinda frustrated, currently looking around if some of my friends has a 1150 socket CPU because I feel like the CPU memory or something is corrupted
Just want to confirm it before I return it for a new one(if that is in fact true, im not sure)

What would you guys recommend?

thanks very much in advance

I inspected the CPU and socket already, they should be fine.

I guess I will check if all plugs are hooked up correctly and maybe try with my own PSU(seasonic 750 gold) and report back. thank you

This would be very strange because the computer runs perfectly fine in BIOS with good temperatures but as soon as windows loads it crashes. Nevertheless I will do as you say when I get back home, thank you.

€: any tests inside windows would not work because it shuts down too quickly(few sec up to 60 sec max)

Damn, i accidentlly clicked on "Solution" sorry! But I do in fact have the correct solution for this problem now!

It was the general power setting in asus BIOS, you can select "Power saver", "normal" and "optimum"(which favors performance)

When I switched from "optimum" to "normal" no more crashes happened! Computer was running all evening yesterday without errors

im so glad, thank you anyways ;_;
