When games download the downloading speed fluctuates alot

When im downloading games on steam and other platforms it will download at usual speeds for a few seconds then drop to 0 and then go back up. Its really annoying becuase it slows down my download time alot.

anyone else no why this happens

It depends on what type of internet connection you have, if you have the proper equipment to achieve the speeds you're supposed to get, network congestion, etc...

So if the wifi is just congested as you said, how am I supposed to stop it from dropping to 0 MB/s every 30 seconds. It slows down the download so much. Also, it never used to happen.

Depending on your modem/router configuration, it's recommended to occasionally "reset" it/them. Meaning disconnect the power from the modem and router, wait about 30 seconds, then power them back on again. This page explains it a bit: https://www.techwalla.com/articles/empty-cable-modem-cache
