when i plug a video card into my graphics card the screen stays on for 3 seconds then says no cable detected

I'm trying to use my graphics card instead of my on board graphics on my motherboard, i tried plugging both a HDMI and 2 different VGA cables into the graphics Card but the same thing happened, i looked in the bios but i seen nothing to do with turning the on board graphics off, i have made sure that the graphics card is correctly plugged in and the wire is connected to the GPU back side, the graphics card doesn't even show up in the device manager and in Dxdiag, the fan on the GPU is working so i'm guessing it still works but i'm really stuck on what to do, using the Radeon 760G on board to play games is really bad i get 10-20 fps in CSGO and only just getting 60 on league of legends, if anybody can help me i would appreciate it, the thing is i was gaming on a HP Pavilion G6 and i was getting better frames then i am on my "Gaming PC"

I would suggest installing the drivers if you haven't already. There should also be an option in the bios to use the on-board or pci video- depends on what bios you're running. here's the link for the drivers. Give it a shot and see if that helps

i do have it pluggeed in yes, and i have a corsair CX500 builder series, sorry i forgot to mention it on the specs list, will update it now thanks for letting me know

i thought of this after writing this thread, i installed them i just need to reset my pc, i got occupied earlier when i thought of it so i didnt get chance will try it now and il keep you posted, thank you for the recomendation, i hope it works quick question, so i clicked on download driver, and there was 3 download buttons do i need them all, i will download them all just incase but if you could let me know that would be great

i can hear my graphics card fan going so thats confusing, what do you think? is there a reason the fans still on?
also is there any software i can use that will show me how much power each of my components are using?

try the auto detect tool from AMD. That is what i had to use when I had to redo my whole OS and didn't have the original disk for the GPU. Also what OS are you running?

i tried the auto detect tool but the graphics card isn't being detected so it wont work unfortunately, also i'm running Windows 7 professional
