Hi guys, I'm new on the forum and I have a problem that I simply can't figure out what it is.
I have Windows 8,1 Pro, CPU Phenom II x4 970, Mobo: Asus M4A87TD, GPU Sapphire Radeon R9 270x, 2x 500gb Segate HDD and another 1TB HDD Segate, 8gb RAM Corsair XMS3, and my monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 920nw. The problem is that every time I boot up may PC my screen goes blank after it reaches the boot logo, and I have to restart my monitor a few times for it to permanently display windows, the screen displays for a brief moment after every restart. Oh, and when it finally displays something I hear something resembling a static discharge coming from my screen. Any ideas?

Solution
Make sure the monitor is set to auto-detect a signal from the PC.
It could be timing out because of some weird power mode or idle timer.

Might be worth looking through Windows and BIOS display settings too.

I looked in to that, couldn't see anything that could cause the problem.
