This happened when I noticed my computer was slower than usual and there were unknown applications running in the background when I checked task manager, so I ran a virus test using Malwarebytes and the program restarted my computer and all I saw was some text saying Missing operating system how do I fix this?

Boot into the BIOS and check to make sure the correct drive is selected as the boot drive.

However, if it was a virus (did MWB give you a list of detected viri??), it may have damaged/destroyed the files required to boot the operating system.

the virus/mwb probably wiped/corrupted some files on your hdd i would boot off from another hdd/ssd/usb then load the files from the corrupted hdd and save the ones you want to keep then reinstall windows.
P.S. i dont know if that is actually possible so look up if it is before trying it

If files are damaged, it is usually only a few boot up files that can be replaced or repaired using either the Windows Install CD or various other HDD repair tools, however those tools need to be available to use.

No reply to my previous suggestion yet, so I wont confuse matters until we know what is needed to move forwards; is the correct drive set as No.1 in the HDD priority list, and it is set as the boot HDD under Boot options??

Where is the link so I can reinstall windows, I am using a usb to plug in to my pc.

So what I did to fix this problem was I used another PC to download windows from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and I then put this file onto a flash drive. I booted up my PC with this and tried all the options to try and repair my PC but, unfortunately it could not be repaired. So I had to download windows again and start from scratch but I ran into another problem. None of my drives were compatible for windows so I had to erase all of the data on one of my drives using command prompt and I was finally able to install windows. This did fix my problem but I was not able to save my previous files.
