when i turn my computer on i get a black screen

Black screen except a portion of the desktop I can see when i turn my computer on. I have to move my mouse around to see the rest of the desktop background or open a program such as chrome and then minimize and the desktop background is there with no black. is this a graphics card issue?

This sounds like more of a software issue. If you have ever had to use a bad computer which was really working hard and moved a window around and noticed it seem to have multiple windows behind it, it is similar. It sounds like a program is running on your PC in front of everything else and that is why you cannot see. I would run a virus scan maybe, or check what programs are set to start on your computer at start up. If you have installed something new lately it could be that.
