When replacing my motherboard, can I install windows to a new drive, and keep the data on my old drive?

I have a lenovo PC that I bought a couple years ago, and installed a GPU in it a few years afterwards. Now, I want to replace the motherboard, cpu, and ram. I have all parts but the motherboard, and have questions as to how I am going to reinstall windows 7 on it. I don't want to lose all my data, and would like to buy a cheap SSD so that windows will boot faster. Can I install an SSD, install Windows 7 on said SDD, and then be able to use all my programs from the old drive?

Solution
You won't be able to use programs from the other drive, unless you reinstall them (you might have the option to change destination installation folder so that that huuuge game does not sit on your SSD).
