When To Stop Overclocking GPU? How To Test If It Is Stable?

I'm new to overclocking. I just overclocked my AMD Radeon 7700 Series from 800MHz to 900MHz. I followed a tutorial showing me how to do it, and my temperature is around 60 while playing games. I ran a test in MSI Kombustor, but didn't see any artifacts.
1)What else am I supposed to be looking out for?
2)Is it stable now that I didn't see any artifacts?
3)How much more MHz can I overclock my gpu so that it is safe?
4)Does having a stable GPU make the life expectancy the same it would have been or not?

1 & 2).- Usually if you pass a stress test and are able to play a game while staying under moderate temps without problems it means you've successfully overclocked your GPU so it seems you've done it right this far.

3).- Trial and error, you could keep going with 10mhz increments until reaching instability, then revert to the previous stable setting as long as temps are acceptable.

4).- Overclocking will always diminish it's life expectancy of any device, however the impact could be just a few days to several months reduced, will largely depend how long you use it (it's effect is less drastic on GPUs since hardly one is using it at full potential 24/7, unless you do bitmining).

Beyond that, as long as you don't raise the voltage overclocking a GPU is usually a very safe procedure, at most you get yourself locked up but with a simple restart all is fine again due to software overclocking doesn't keep applied after rebooting.
