When will LCD's equal in performance to CRT's

It appears to me that LCD's are inferior to the CRT's in all aspects except for size and power dissipation. How long will it take for LCD's to be on a par with CRT's? You think its a better idea to get a 19" CRT instead of a much more expensive and inferior LCD?

In a lot of ways 🙁

- less contract ratio
- smaller range of colour spectrum
- afterglow
- occational dead pixels
- smaller viewing angle than CRT (getting to be less of a problem)
- predefined resolution

I learned this from reading the guides and I am not sure if i still want a LCD anymore. The guide i read was "Comparison Of 15" LCD Monitors - Part I", it is written over a year ago. I am definite that LCDs has gotten a lot better, but i am still not sure since i havent gotten the time to do follow up research on other websites. From what i have seen though, the pixel response time (similar to the refresh rate on CRT) is getting better and 16ms is common on viewsonic 17".

Anyways~ i still have my doubts on LCD until the next guide for displays comes out.

I am more or less feeling the same way, i have a 9500 Pro and would Love to have a second monitor, and right now my current MAC monitor might be giving me trouble, so i have been concidering getting an LCD but as you saw they seem to be well inferior...

I too think i'll be waiting for the next LCD Review and will be hoping that there is a good comparison of the CRT's
