Whenever I start a game I get a black screen and GPU Fan spins up to 100% and I have to restart

So I recently built a gaming computer and I have been playing a lot of games on it and 10-20 minutes in it crashes and I get a black screen and the GPU Fans goes up to 100% and I have to force restart. I am running memtest as we speak and is there any suggestions as to what is wrong? Thanks!

Quick update ran memtest and nonerrors so its not my memory

This is most definitely a GPU fault. Return (or RMA) the card.
It may take a while, but I've seen many issues like this and it's always been the GPU.

OK thanks but are you completely sure because I don't want to replace the card and find out thats not the issue

I sure am. If you want to test it, you can remove the card, use the integrated graphics to play a game and see if the same thing happens.

I had a similar problem in my computer. I opened up my graphics card and used canned air to blow out a wall of dust out of the heat sink. I don't know if that will fix your problem, but it fixed mine. Best of luck!
