[sarcasm]Wow...and here I thought ATI had nothing but stability since the 8500 days. Wow...good thing you cleared that up for me[/sarcasm]...um..Oh yeah, yer full of crap too.
Just thought I'd let you know that. The post you made had nothing but massive flames shooting out of it. Try posting something with 1)support for your main points and 2)Actual information that is up for debate...not opinions that you are trying to state as fact.
Not that I'm any better than anyone else in 'how to post' but here is an example of a proper post/reply to post in this hardware forum:
1. Nothing more stable that the Cat 3.7's...in fact..the Cat 3.5 were probably the beginning of stability. Oh, and I really liked the flickering problem with the last round of Detonators...shows how good Nvidia's driver support is as well. Bottom line is, not one graphics vendor can forsee all the problems their product with have with all games. That's what driver releases are for. Nvidia hit their stride around the GF3 series of cards for drivers...which was their THIRD generation card. ATI hit their stride with the 9000 series...which was their? Oh yes it was...their THIRD generation graphics chip. Interesting eh?
2. ATI cards? What vendor? Asus? Sapphire? Vision Tek? If you notice...2 of those vendors also manufacture Nvidia boards. So if you bash ATI, you're going to need to bash them as well. Also, Tech Support is bad with ATI eh? My 9500 Pro comes with LIFETIME tech support AND warranty. Can't complain about that one.
3. I play OpenGL games with all options enabled on a daily basis. I get triple digit frames from UTGOTY and QuakeIII with NO problems whatsoever. In fact, there is a thread IN THIS FORUM that will tell you all about the openGL debate. People that say ATI sux for OpenGL...go to this thread for a detailed breakdown (mind you, it is a long thread) on Nvidia and ATI in OpenGL.
4. As far as your last 'point', drivers on ATI cards ARE stable. Where is your proof that they are "Degenerating?" I haven't seen any degradation in driver performance. I have no idea what you are basing your predictions on...well actually I do...your own biased opinion...but I don't know where you got the notion from. It's obvious that you didn't think of this yourself because it sounds like the same crap that spews from fanboi's mouths on a daily basis. So until you can back that one up, I'm going to delete it from my mental register and not care to read it again.
The one and only reason I even responded to your post is so that you see how to do it right. You won't learn unless someone sets the example for you to go by. You need support to back up opinions AND proof to back up your facts. Once you get those...flame away...but don't just post CRAP. It makes you seem ignorant. Hope this helps you in the future.
