Hey all,
I'm running two Logitech C920 webcams, and I want them each on their own USB Root Hub.
When I look in Device Manager and View Devices By Connection I can see that ALL of my USB Devices are hooked up to the USB 3.0 Hub.
On the back of my MOBO I have two USB 3.0 ports and four USB 2.0 ports. There's an additional two USB 2.0 ports on the front of my case.
No matter which USB port I plug my devices in to they ALL show up under the USB 3.0 Root Hub. I notice in Device Manager that there are two other USB Root Hubs listed, but I can't get a device to recognize under one of those hubs.
With everything under the USB 3.0 Root Hub there's sound distortion when I have the two Logitech webcams running (even if they're each at 640x480 resolution), and the solution I've found by searching through forums has been to insure each webcam is on it's own hub so it doesn't get overloaded.
I've attached a picture highlighting the other two apparent USB hubs that are being reported from the MOBO.
I've opened up my computer case and see that there's one available USB header to plug in to, is this what it's reporting? I tried plugging in a USB 2.0 expansion card in there but I got USB Overcurrent Detected. I thought my wires were fine, but I reversed them anyway just to be sure, and same Overcurrent Detected error message. Perhaps a faulty header expansion device?
I was thinking about going out and buying another USB 2.0 expansion header, or perhaps an AC powered hub.. but don't want to bother if there's something else I'm missing.
Kind Regards,
