So i wanna play old deus ex from 2000 and it need directx 7 which wouldnt be problem if i had my original disc and nothing what i downloaded was working

Solution
try running the game in compatibility mode. Right click on the exe and select properties, then compatibility, then select whichever set up is most appropriate. that may help.
You cannot install the old DX7 on a PC with Windows 8.0 and up. The last OS that would allow running a retro game and older DX version in Windows XP or 98 compatibility mode was Vista. It's one reason I still use Vista in my backup 1080p gaming rig. This is also the main reason I decided to build a dedicated Windows 98 retro gaming PC from old PC parts for old games between 1997-2005 (Quake II through HL2).

As I stated he needs Windows 7 or Vista to do that. Microsoft stopped supporting applications running in XP or Win98 compatibility mode starting with Windows 8.0. I already looked into this several years ago.

I wasn't totally clear. This is related to all DX applications, not all applications in general. Microsoft has always kept a short leash on their Direct X.

Another option I didn't think about: perhaps try running the game in Open GL. But again, not sure if that will work in Win10.
