Not true. Many leftist anti-war protesters are well aware that there are
situations where war is the only solution. Genocide (Rwanda, Bosnia, now
Sudan, possibly) needs the kind of immediate intervention that is usually
only possible by military force. The problem is that right-wing pro-war
activists use the excuse that not all wars are bad to justify every war,
and that's just stupid.

And if the US is really this great defender of freedom in all corners
of the world, why has it so often supported oppression in the past, and
does it continue to do so even now, whenever that seems to be to the US's
advantage?

That's just your subjective belief. Mike P is a troller. I've never
seen him write a coherent counter argument to somebody with who he
disagrees. He goes straight to the name calling and insults. Despite

That may be so, but TR was every bit as much a warmonger as George W

For the record, paying to work, should be against the law, but
everyone that owns a car pays to work. The money is collected as a
gasoline tax. The Federal tax is 18 cents a gallon, state and
local governments hog in on that pork barrel as well. Too bad
those funds aren't re-allocated back to the communities based on
the collections. For the life of me, I can't figure out why the
States need new highway appropriations every few years, given, the
steady stream of income said taxes have been producing. Are there
scams like this in place over the pond in Europe?
