Hi all,

I annoyingly missed that Intel were discontinuing their support for the DH61WW motherboard, last Nov. As such I'm stuck on an old BIOS version 0046, which I'll now have to update manually.

I believe I need to do a step by step update going to 0048 then 0099 then to 0120.

After searching Google, I can only find links to the 0120 BIOS and not the previous versions. Also I'm a little bit uncomfortable with downloading from anywhere as I use the PC for work; so would really appreciate some guidance on genuine sites.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

@Bassplate That looks very similar - believe that's the one :D
It is kind of Difficult to Find the latest Bios Update on the Internet.
Intel announced the discontinuance of the Intel® Desktop Board product family in January 2013 to focus on innovative form factors beyond motherboards, such as the Intel® NUC products. All Intel Desktop Boards stopped shipping entirely by July 2015. Device drivers for Intel Desktop Board are no longer available on Intel Download Center after September 13, 2019. BIOS updates are no longer available after November 22, 2019.

But I'm still looking for the safest new Bios Update on the WEB...I'll come back to you as...

Thank you - really appreciate it - so annoying that Intel discontinued this, it's not that hard just to have an archive page.

From what I've read I need to update from current version 0046 to:
- 0048
-0099
-0120 (or 0116)

Could you please share your knowledge on the actual BIOS update procedure as I am in the exact same scenario. A step by step explanation would be much appreciated.

Much thanks!

I'm on version 0020. I have all the necessary .BIO files and turned my USB flashdrive into a DOS bootable drive using RUFUS, but after restarting into the CMD prompt and typing "dir", it wont allow me to select the necessary update which is the 0048 update. I'm always met with an invalid file name error.

I think you may need to update to 0041 first - https://community.intel.com/t5/Inte...3-to-0028-to-0034-to-0035-to-0041/td-p/614483

I'd be interested in a copy of those bios files, if you're able to point me to where you found them, I can't update without 0048 first - so gutted that intel pulled support before the working from home started :(

Here you go - https://kb.stonegroup.co.uk/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=267

I'll give it another try this time around. Thanks mate!

Hi i've recently updated it...today is 29 aug 2020

I've bought a nvidia geforce gtx 1660 super so it was mandatory to update the bios to make it work:

1) AS you mentioned you have to make three updates to these versions:
- 0048
-0099
-0116 (or 0120 as I read this one have some issues)

2) the first update must be done using a bootable usb (RUFUS) and with the Flash tool (copy the flash2.exe and the bios file in the usb)...it works with any problem at this point you have version 0048

3) the second update is a mess... with the same flash tool and the bootable usb repeat the above processwith the new bios file 0099. The bios will update to 0099 but the OS won't start so you have to do this as I read in this treath https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/intel-dh61ww-not-working-after-099-bios-update.3416282/ and this works for me too:
  1. Disconnect the PC from the electric current
  2. Remove the BIOS battery and the reset jumper
  3. Leave 20 minutes to download capacitors
  4. Copy the file version 0116 to a USB Memory Stick (the pen should contain only the file - not the bootable USB )
  5. Insert the battery and leave without the jumper (BIOS recovery mode)
  6. Plug in the power and with the USB Memory Stick, turn on the PC
  7. The computer will automatically load the new BIOS, then it will ask you to turn off the PC, disconnect the power and put the jumper back on.
After all this steps my nvidia geforce works totally normal mi old mainboard still working fine
