Hi I was wondering as I see this happen often where the cpu is at around 16percrnt usage to 20percent and the 970plus ssd is at 10to20percent usage. And somtimes lower bouncing from a few percent to a low percentage

During stuff like virus scan of a large file for instance or as an example I installed a 1gb sluethkit for finding hdd lost files and it took a whopping 20minutes or more just uh backing or whatever (I'm assuming this program made of tons of small files)

Anyways my computer is in good health had recently done sfc. Exe /scannow and other maintence taskl.

Watching the performance monitor the bottleneck ain't the cpu it ain't the nvme 970plus hdd where off so why does these tasks somtimes take so long when there plenty of ssd a cpu performance to use is the bottleneck the memory?
My specs are
8700k
B365 motherboard
Memory clocked at 2666ghz cas12
970plus Evo samsung

Solution
To add a bit CPU usage can be deceiving. If the program your using mainly only uses 1 or 2 cores then your % would be way down on a 6 core 12 thread processor.

Download this.
UBM

Reboot.
Wait a few mins.
Run UBM with the browser closed.
Post a LINK to the results page.

i benched a few times got the same results on the 970evo plus said Relative performance n/a - sequential bench incomplete

Yes I have fps capped so where in my settings for gpu as been mining crypto as for the other test idk my reads and writes to c are bit on the low side 2500and 2400 I know it's speed higher but using 400out of 500gb

You did not follow directions.
Go back and read what I wrote as to how to run UBM.

it needs space for 60seconds of continuous writes
115GB should be probably enough...but obviously u need more free space...but it should be fine if 115GB can be filled within 60sec (or less)...thats like 1.9GB/s writes per second
so dont worry about it

Yeah this sounds like the most logical answer was a . Msi packaged file autopsy slueth kit guess I could try opening that using winrar rather than basic
. Msi packages as not sure if there multithread optimized
I was wondering if maybe is alot of io from cpu to memory for task like that and virus scans somtimes to wondered if maybe the font side bus (or whatever the modern name for fsb is) and ddr4 memory vs ddr5 memory would make better difference for those types of workloads having a higher fsb or having a rig with ddr5 would make a huge difference as I know compression/installers bennifit from ddr5

But in this case I wonder if the fsb is the limiting factor but yeah your prolly right the installer prolly wasn't optimized for multithread

And

However I see the same scenarios play out with win10 defender virus scans on drive c: sometimes and surly there optimized

And yeah I have larger hdd's but I took um offline till I come up with a solution as there old

You should be able to look in task manager and see how much of each core is being used.
