which 1080 card would perform better

Hi Guys

I have been deciding for quite a while now which graphics card too go for but I just can't make up my mind which would perform better with asus maximus 8 alpha motherboard the http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5915#kf or https://www.asus.com/us/Graphics-Cards/ROG-STRIX-GTX1080-O8G-GAMING/

any ideas I did do a comparison but still not sure i do prefer the asus better but the gigabyte seems better.

What are you planning to do with it regular 1080P, 1440P. 4K Multi monitor?

Out of the box the gigabyte is little faster due to the higher clock speeds. If you want to sync the RGB capabilities of the gpu and motherboard you'd want to get the Asus card as it and the motherboard are Aura capable.

Well at this point 1080 P but looking at getting asus 4K monitor at around about the end of 2017.

Both seem to be able to good on temps and for clock speeds you can overclock that manually so go with which ever one is cheaper.

That was the other thing I looked at also and why I prefer the asus but then again its looks over performance and that's where I got stuck. Is it worth throwing away the little performance for looks.

Gpu is the same model the rest of the card is different as these are not reference models.

Agreed, but doesn't matter very much. I would buy the one that is available and that has the lowest price.

Can't say I have seen a 1080 that didn't support SLI, but none support Crossfire. Crossfire is only for AMD cards.
