which 1080 do i get between these

MSI Gaming X seems indeed to be the winner of this generation, but it's worth mentioning that I've heard from plenty of people that the Palit Super JetStream and the MSI Gaming X have very similar coolers, except the Palit has a bigger heatsink (being a 2.5 slot card), though I guess performance is similar between them - Palit is mostly cheaper though, so if brand/looks isn't your concern, I'd recommend the Palit Super JetStream, I have a friend who has one, and he's very happy with it.

However I'm mostly referring to cooling... if you're interested in heavy overclocking I'd suggest the EVGA cards, some of them have just insane VRM's that help overclock stability.
personal preference really, if you like the looks of one you arent really losing much.
id go with the gigabyte, i've heard more good about that one than ive heard anything about the strix

good things such as?

I would decide between the Palit Super JetStream and the MSI Gaming X, they seem to have the best cooling/noise ratio for this generation.
The Asus Strix seems to have received lots of complaints on not delivering good enough on the cooling/noise ratio.

the strix just hasn't performed as good as other thought, like what the other guy said noise and cooling. Go with either a gigabyte g1 or the mis gaming which are the most popular and ones that cool the best with great looks (if your build is red)
