I posted a while ago about replacing a failing LGA1155 motherboard. It was suggested to actually get a Haswell refresh CPU and Z97 motherboard. At the time this seemed like a tempting idea but after looking up prices it was way out of my budget. After starting full time college, I completely forgot about it since I hardly used my computer. Since now I am using my computer more because of programming and essays, I am noticing the coil whine noise more and more. I don't want to get a new processor and motherboard since it is way to much. I do however want to replace the motherboard which I have now with a new 1155 one. I currently have a i5-2500K midly overclcoked to 3.8GHz. I was looking at these motherboards:

Asrock Z77 Extreme4

Asus P8Z77-V LX

Gigabyte Z77-HD3

Asus Z77-A

Which one of these is best? Or is there another one?

Solution
Asrock Z77 Extreme4 has 8+4 phase design . It is for huge overclocking .
Asus Z77 A doesnt support SLI , 4+1 phase design
Gigabyte Z77-HD3 has ? phase design , if i found right
Asus P8Z77-V LX has 4+1+1 phase design and is inexpensive .

i would go with Asus P8Z77-V LX

OK thanks. The Asus P8 was the board that I was more lenient to in the first place, probably will get that one.

The Asrock apparently has more features than the Asus one, but is actually worth the extra money?

When I first built my computer in 2011 with an i3-540, I had an Asrock motherboard and had no problems at all, and regret selling it after. I have had nothing but problems with the MSI one I have now, so although I was going to get the Asus since it was the cheaper one and had good features, I am now kinda tempted to go with the Asrock if it is as good as people say it is.
