I need a laptop for a very simple task:

Edit/show PowerPoint presentations. I currently use an Acer Swift Edge (16" OLED), and I find the screen absolutely gorgeous, the large size helps a lot for spontaneous viewers. My issue with it is the battery life (it uses an AMD 8840U), it's not that bad, it's just that it's in the mid single-digit range, so I don't feel comfortable not carrying a charger with me throughout the day.

Would much rather have a laptop I can go out with without even the slightest "range anxiety", similar to my Google Pixel or my electric vehicle which I simply charge at the end of each day.

I got my eyes on the Galaxy 4Tab 16" snapdragon laptop, or the Zenbook S 16 with Ryzen 370 HX, i find a lot of conflicting information on battery life. Could anybody help and point me to the right models I'm looking for? :)

PS i love the idea of the Snapdragon because I understand it generates less heat and noise, right? But I can't find too many 16" that last 15-20 hours on a single charge

Thanks folks <3

It is not the cpu that is your problem if you are running powerpoint it is likely almost idle. Your problem is all the energy it take to produce the light coming from the large display you want. In addition OLED uses more energy than simpler LED. After that is purely a function of how much battery they can cram into a laptop. They could make a laptop that would last a week if you were willing to carry around a device that has 100lbs of battery.

Depends on budget but the 16" MacBook has a Mini LED display which is better than most, if not all, laptop OLED panels. you still get amazing contrast but it goes twice as bright using less power.

You also get access to keynote which is better than powerpoint to the extent that Microsoft used for their presentations until they got caught.

I did eye the Macbook :) I'm loving the M4 chip.

My problem with it is tri-fold tho:

I like having Fedora Linux installed as well, which I use as a daily driver. My main desktop runs on Fedora, and using KDE Connect (on my phone too), I can share files, etc, very easily between all the devices.

Also, often I present the PowerPoint to potential multi-million dollar investors. At least in my country, there's a strong perception of a "novice" when somebody comes with a Mac. I used to have one actually, and replaced it.

Third, do PowerPoint presentation work problem-free on Keynote? Animations, placements, etc ? Cause both LibreOffice and OnlyOffice (tried to run the presentation on Fedora) butcher it quiet noticeably.

Thanks <3
